A lovely friend of mine sells Cookielee Jewely and asked me to join her in an open house sales event. There are several pieces that I have my eye on such as the Crystal Expressions Necklace/Earring set that contains 7 pieces that can be worn for 4 different looks. The Jewelry is gorgeous, yet so affordable that it is easy to pick up a few pieces without guilt!! She also invited an Arbonne specialist to give facials and try out some of the products.
I received several custom orders that are just about done and ready for delivery!!
One more left, will post a picture when done.

SNoW DaY!!!!

Our first official school closed because of snow day!! It's still coming down but expected to change into rain later. Good day to work on a custom order that I received in my shop yesterday. My little girl is still at her friends house after her sleep over. She had a bit of a rough night and finally settled in after talking with me on the phone for a few minutes. It's very touching hearing her voice knowing the tears are in her eyes - believe me, I almost went to pick her up but I know she is happy to be there this morning! Today I also need to work on some items that I'll be able to use for a Valentine's showcase that I will be in on Feb 7 - I really need to get working while I have some quiet!!!! Love the way the snow on the table looks like a doily.

Aren't these little Scissors the cutest little guys!! I just had to pick up a pair today to do all of my little snips while sewing. My old scissors just weren't "CUTTING" it anymore!! Literally! I think I dulled them by cutting off zipper ends. I will be sure to use and old pair of scissors for that in the future and not these new babies!!

Lazy Sunday before a busy Week

I used to call it a "CAT DAY" because I would stay in my coziest PJ's and just curl up on the couch with a nice cup of tea and watch DIY home shows all day long. Didn't care about what I ate (that was when the lbs never added up) or if I napped on and off. I especially remember having NOT ONE guilty feeling about spending the day like that!! This picture from toeNja Fine Art Photographs shows it perfectly. Well now my lazy day is a bit different. No cleaning except maybe running the dishwasher or running a load of laundry (only one though), spending the morning watching a movie with my little girl and then some computer time. DD and DH then go out for a few hours to have "their" time and leave me to have some "mommy" time. Up in my sewing room I get a few things done while watching trashy things like reruns of America's Next Top Model, easy to sew when you don't really have to keep up with the plot! Have a nice healthy salad (why should I cook just for me??) and before you know it the family is back home as if they never left. Great day for everyone. Nice thing is, I'm ready for bed and don't even have to change into my PJ's!! Perfect.

I know already that my little girl that is already 5 1/2 yrs old, is following in her mommy's footsteps. Her favorite show on TV is Trading Spaces Boys vs. Girls and she is already decorating for Valentine's Day. The paper snowflakes came off the doors and windows and we now have paper hearts in red, pink and purple in their place. I only got around to taking down the Christmas Tree today!!

Well, actually only a few inches but always a good reason to stay in you PJ's and have a lazy day with the family! I've started the New Year off right, started the diet (again) and got all of my paperwork for the shop in order for tax time. Created some new worksheets to keep everything organized and accounted for.

My Etsy Shop. I will be adding some new Christy Clutches by Wednesday or Thursday if the weather cooperates to take pictures. I've been really trying to improve the pictures of the items, reading and researching the best methods. Hopefully this research will payoff.
I finally have statistics available for my use in my shop, provided by Google Analytics, and will hopefully be able to see where I need to work more to promote!

I guess it is quite obvious that keeping up with a blog is a very difficult process for me!! Since it is autumn and the leaves are falling and currently being collected by the darling princess, I will try to turn over a leaf and attempt to blog more often. There are many things that I would like to do to make my life more organized and efficient. The list is a long one and I will be ticking the items off one by one, hopefully before the new year so that I will be free and clear of making that dreaded "New Years' Resolution"!! Why must I wait till then, let's start NOW!

Getting Re-Organized

I realized yesterday that I have been avoiding my sewing room because of the chaotic state that it was in!! So guess what my day was spent doing.....
It's not the easiest task when the little 5 year old princess is bringing her toys into the room that your trying to clean, especially the almost life size pink pony that she rides in on!
Reorganized my stash of fabrics, supplies and paperwork. I feel sooooo much better now and actually finished up several totes.
I'm also in the middle of testing out 2 new purse designs. I like to make one and use it a bit to see if it functions as expected. Needs a few tweaks first - then onto production....

Going on Vacation

My Hubby and I will be celebrating our 10yr wedding Anniversary by taking a trip to Cozumel leaving on 5/31!! We are avid divers (DiveMasters actually) and are returning to Cozumel after 10 yrs. We are also staying in the same place, "The Barracuda"!! Good times, Good times!
My shop will still be open but will only be able to ship items when we return on June 8th.
Hopefully, when I return, I will start featuring an Etsy member each week. These features will include newer members and local to my area, Long Island.

YAY, YIPEE................
I'm so excited. I've been approached by a Sweet Shop that is going to be renting shelving space to local crafters to sell their goods. This will be great for me for more exposure. I will be selling mostly smaller items like the Kayla Purses and the Christy Clutches. The shop also hosts birthday parties for children and create party favors. I think it would be great to make little totes for these favors. So many ideas!!!! I need to go sew up a storm. Will update when I have more info regarding this..

I've been working diligently to create some new designs and I am quite happy with them. I now have the Kayla Coin Pouch added to my store as well as the Sophie Sling Sac.
Some new materials are on the way also including some Amy Butler and Micheal Miller.

Well, I've finally opened my shop on ETSY!! I've been sewing and photographing like a madwoman to get it up and running. So far, I'm happy with the way that it looks, but still needs alot of improvement, and alot more items.
I've been hitting the forums alot, and have gotten alot of views and heart on the shop.
My next step will be to promote, promote, promote outside of the etsy forums.
